The King's School has an open admissions policy, considering pupils from all backgrounds, cultures and religious beliefs. Rather than an entrance exam, the head teacher meets with parents of prospective pupils to discuss the aims of the school. The purpose of the meeting is to ensure that parents are committed to working with the school to achieve these aims. Where a child has specific needs, these will be carefully considered in conjunction with the broader needs of the receiving class.
Foundation Unit
From
September 2010 the school will only accept full-time pupils to the unit because
of the high level of demand for places. Parents can phase the time the pupil is in school so that attendance is built up to full-time over 3 weeks.
