Year 5/6 class teacher - job share (0.2) 

Depending on timetable constraints and experience, responsibilities could include Literacy, Numeracy, Topic, Science, ICT and PE along with Y3/4 Science.

French teacher (0.53)

To teach French to Years 7-11, including GCSE.  The timetable can be increased if the successful applicant is able to offer a second language.  The post is available from September 2010.

Art and Design teacher (0.43)

To teach pupils from Years 3-11, including GCSE.  Presently, the timetable is spread over 2.5 days.  The post is available from September, and possibly from the Summer term. 

Religious Education teacher (0.33)

To teach RE to KS3 and KS4 pupils, including GCSE.  GCSE RE is a compulsory subject for KS4 pupils.  The post is available from September 2010.

The King's School is designated as a school with a religious character by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and therefore it is a requirement that the successful applicant will be a practicing Christian in accordance with the Spiritual ethos of the School.  We are currently an Independent school, but are in the process of applying for VA status.  We will, therefore, only be calling applicants for interview who have qualified teacher status. 

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and the successful applicant will therefore need to undertake an enhanced CRB Disclosure.
