Have you ever dreamed of scoring the winning goal at the FA Cup Final at Wembley? Well, for pupils in Y5/6, that dream recently became a (virtual) reality at The FA Cup Trophy Tour. The tour, which has been travelling to football clubs nationwide, came to Nottingham Forest Football Club on 8 December. Pupils were given the opportunity to learn more about the history of the FA Cup through a variety of fun and interactive activities. The highlight for many of the pupils was being able to hold the FA Cup itself, as well as scoring the winning goal at a virtual Wembley: "My favourite part was holding the FA Cup trophy and watching my clip because I felt like a hero." (Jack Chui) "What I liked most of all was holding the cup and cheering my head off!" (Bethany Roberts) Pupils also enjoyed testing the speed of their kicking on the Power Kick game, with Jordan Robinson topping the table with a speed of 49mph! Mini 3 v 3 football matches were played on an inflatable football pitch, whilst pupils improved their skill and co-ordination on the FA Cup football tables. Kingslee Clarke was delighted to have beaten Mr Southey, whom he describes as "really, excellently good", in one table football match out of three! All of the pupils had a fun and memorable experience. |
