The King's School goes green! PDF Print E-mail

gen_green.gifThe King's School has joined Generation Green, a new programme from British Gas, to help young people do their bit to make the planet greener.

During the year, we will be undertaking green tasks to encourage us to save energy and cut our carbon emissions.  Year 9 are doing the main part of the project.  They have made notice boards and appointed light monitors for each classroom.  Light monitors are responsible for turning the lights off when people leave a room, in order to save energy.  For every green action that we perform, we earn Green Leaves, which we can then exchange for energy efficient rewards.

How you can get involved

Any support you can give us will be very welcome.  Small actions like switching off lights to save energy can make a big difference.  Your own green actions could even earn Leaves that you can donate to our school to help us reach our goal.  Just complete one of the Energy Savers Reports and you'll earn 100 Leaves for the School.  To find out more, go to the Generation Green website: www.generationgreen.co.uk/About/For-family/
